Brow Lift in San Antonio

A brow lift is a facial rejuvenation surgery to smooth the forehead and lift sagging eyebrows. As the years pass, our forehead can make us look older, grumpy, or sleepy. Deep creases, frown lines, and droopy eyebrows are noticeable signs of aging – but are often also caused by genetics and stress, and anxiety. A brow lift can correct this by lifting and smoothing the tissues of the brow and forehead. At Advanced Concepts in Plastic Surgery, San Antonians enjoy results that brighten their eyes and revitalize their appearance.

Dr. Suresh Koneru is a board-certified plastic surgeon with over 28 years of experience. Results matter to Dr. Koneru, and he’s committed to bringing real, reliable aesthetic information to the people of San Antonio and beyond. If you’re looking to address a heavy brow, call 210-499-5900 to schedule an appointment for a personal consultation.

Tired of Looking Tired?

Eye contact is an important part of how we communicate, and so how our eyes look matters! Looking older is one thing, but seeming disengaged, or uninterested can have a big impact on what other people think about us. A brow lift can restore a more youthful, refreshed, and alert expression. During a brow lift, the muscles that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines. The change is a natural and rejuvenated look.

A brow lift is performed using incisions made along the hairline, where they are easily hidden. Via these incisions, Dr. Koneru will secure the underlying tissues to a higher position to eliminate sagging in the brow and lift and smooth the forehead. If possible, Dr. Koneru can perform an endoscopic brow lift. This means that tiny surgical tools and a camera can be inserted through a series of small incisions behind the hairline so that the entire surgery can be done underneath the skin.

If you are bothered by a drooping brow line, consider a consultation at Advanced Concepts in Plastic Surgery. At your private appointment, we’ll determine if a brow lift is the correct course of action for you. You can contact us by calling 210-499-5900.

Benefits of a Brow Lift

  • Rejuvenates the upper portions of the face
  • Erases fine lines in and around the brows
  • Reduces deep wrinkles on the forehead
  • Enhances a youthful, alert expression
  • Removes sagging skin that can obstruct vision

Candidates

People who are in overall good health and have realistic expectations are usually good candidates for a brow lift.  This procedure is most commonly requested by men and women in the 40-60 age range. However, it can help people of any age with furrows or frown lines across the forehead and droopy eyebrows. This can be caused by repetitive muscle activity, like frequent frowning caused by stress. Individuals with naturally low, heavy eyebrows can also achieve a more alert and refreshed look with this procedure. Dr. Koneru always ensures that incisions are as discreet as possible. Although incisions for a brow lift are often hidden above the hairline, patients who are bald, have a receding hairline, or have had previous upper-eyelid surgery may still be good candidates for a brow lift. Dr. Koneru will simply alter the incision location or perform a more conservative operation.

Your Private Consultation at Advanced Concepts in Plastic Surgery

During your consultation with Dr. Koneru, he will discuss your concerns, your options, and your expectations. He also will evaluate your skin and underlying bone structure.

You and Dr. Koneru will discuss your goals for the surgery and any medical conditions that could cause problems during or after the procedure, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, blood-clotting problems, or the tendency to develop large scars. Be sure to tell him if you have had previous facial surgery, if you smoke, or if you take any drugs or medications — including aspirin or other drugs that affect blood clotting.

Endoscopic Brow Lift Procedure

Over the course of his career, Dr. Koneru has helped his patients achieve their aesthetic goals with the latest surgical advances. Endoscopic technology can be used to perform brow lifts, and significantly reduces the time the patient spends in the operating room as well as their recovery time.[3]

Brow Lift in San Antonio

On the day of your procedure, Dr. Koneru will begin the surgery with a set of small incisions behind the hairline. These incisions will allow Dr. Koneru access to the tissues he needs to alter. Using an endoscope, a medical imaging tool, he can modify the corrugator muscles in the forehead and elevate the eyebrows as needed.[2] Sometimes he may use Endotines, small resorbable tacks that hold the tissues in position.  Other times, he may use sutures or screws. After the overlying skin is lifted and redraped along the contours of the forehead, Dr. Koneru will secure it in place.

Rapid Recovery

The endoscopic technique reduces the need for large and disruptive incisions. Still, it is quite common for there to be some swelling and bruising as you heal. You should take a week or two off from work and other obligations that may cause excessive strain or stress while you recover.

Results

Even though the ultimate effects of a brow lift are natural-looking, the results can offer a dramatic improvement. A successful forehead lift can take five to seven years off your appearance. To preserve your results, Dr. Koneru recommends that you avoid prolonged sun exposure. He can recommend a skin care regimen that will help maintain your skin’s elasticity as the years pass.

How Long Does a Brow Lift Last?

The rejuvenating results of a brow lift can last up to ten years or more. The procedure will produce long-lasting results, but it will not halt the aging process. As you get older, and skin laxity increases, your results will soften.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

At Advanced Concepts in Plastic Surgery, a brow lift is just one of several facial rejuvenation procedures that can brighten your look

Eyelid Lift

An eyelid lift is frequently paired with a brow lift because the two procedures are both focused on the area around the eyes, and the results can complement each other for comprehensive enhancement. Also known as blepharoplasty, an eyelid lift will elevate and remove extra skin from the area just below the brow. The results of an eyelid lift can make the patient appear younger, as well as more alert and engaged

Facelift

The facelift is one of the more extensive anti-aging facial procedures. It is intended to lift and remove sagging, wrinkled skin from the lower portions of the face.

What Does a Brow Lift Cost in San Antonio?

Every patient’s course of treatment is customized to their unique needs. At your personal consultation, Dr. Koneru will discuss which course of treatment is best suited to you. After your consultation, we will provide you with an accurate cost estimate.

FAQ

Should I get brow lift surgery?

A brow lift is a cosmetic procedure to assist patients who have lax, excess skin at the forehead, in the area just above the eyes. Sagging skin at the brow line can be the result of the aging process. Genetic factors play a role, as well, as some people are more prone to a droopy brow than others. Deep lines along the forehead can also make the person seem like they are always worried or tired. In the most severe cases, sagging skin can impair or obstruct vision. People who experience any of the symptoms listed above may benefit from the rejuvenating effects of a brow lift.

How long does a brow lift last?

A brow lift is a long-lasting facial rejuvenation procedure. Unlike minimally invasive alternatives like Botox or dermal fillers, a brow lift actually involves removing lax, excess tissue so that the skin is taut and toned. With proper skin care, the results can last for ten years. However, the results will begin to regress as the aging process continues.
