Dr. Suresh Koneru is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who has been in private practice in San Antonio since 1996. He is fully trained in all aspects of modern plastic and reconstructive surgery, including cosmetic surgery of the face and body, breast surgery (including breast reconstruction, breast augmentation, and breast reduction), suction-assisted lipectomy (liposuction), body contouring (tummy tuck, belt lipectomy, post massive weight loss surgery), and laser procedures. Additionally, his reconstructive experience includes microsurgical techniques of the hand, repairing trauma, cancer and congenital abnormalities.

A native of San Antonio, Dr. Koneru attended Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland after his graduation from Churchill High School. At CWRU he earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He then returned home to attend medical school at the UT Health Science Center.

Dr. Koneru completed his internship and residency in General Surgery in New Haven, Connecticut at the Hospital of St. Raphael, an affiliate of Yale University. Following completion of this prestigious General Surgery training, he returned to CWRU to pursue training in Plastic Surgery under internationally recognized cosmetic, hand, and reconstructive surgeons.

While in training, Dr. Koneru was involved in many scientific research projects. Many of these projects involved the application of innovative computer and imaging technologies such as three-dimensional CT and shape scanning. In 1994, he created the first educational Web site dedicated to Plastic Surgery. In addition to his many research publications and presentations, he has co-authored a textbook chapter in Essential Otolaryngology edited by K.J. Lee.

Licensed in Texas, Dr. Koneru is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. He was a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School. His memberships and affiliations include:
