BOTOX®

BOTOX® Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, is a protein commonly used to non-surgically reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. The injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the skin a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® Cosmetic may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms. The procedure is quick and usually performed in an examination room.

RESTYLANE™

RESTYLANE™ is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear gel composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. This synthetic acid carries no risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, RESTYLANE™ remains in your skin for many months.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. There are three types of chemical peels, ranging from mild to strong - alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), tricholoroacetic acid (TCA) and phenol - and formula strengths are tailored to each patient. In our San Antonio office, we use primarily TCA peels performed by Dr. Koneru himself. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look.

Lip Enhancement

Full and vivacious lips have always been recognized as aesthetically important features. Some of us, however, are born with thin, ill-defined lips, or our lips lose their fullness with age. But the appearance of our lips is now within our control. Fine lines and wrinkles, thin lips and a drooping corner of the mouth are all areas that can be aided with injectable fillers. The market is ever changing, with new products appearing rapidly. Care is individualized to provide a safe and effective treatment option.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion reduces the appearance of mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems by exfoliating the outer layer of skin to provide a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible, although multiple treatments are usually required for full effect. The procedure is particularly helpful for Asian and dark-skinned patients who risk skin discoloration with other treatment options.

Juvederm™

Juvéderm™ is an injectable gel that gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow's feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also "plump up" the lips, sculpt the cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face. It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin. Because it is non-animal-based and highly biocompatible, no pre-treatment testing is needed. Juvéderm comes in three formulas optimized for the depth of the area being treated. Results last about 6-9 months and can be made to last even longer with a simple follow-up treatment a few weeks after the initial injection.

Hydrelle™

Hydrelle is an FDA-approved dermal filler that provides long-term results with fewer injections. It is the first dermal filler to contain lidocaine, an anesthetic, as well as a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid than other fillers. One injection of Hydrelle can last up to a year, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and leaving the skin looking and feeling younger, fuller and more refreshed.

Hydrelle injections are most effective in treating wrinkles and fine lines around the nasolabial folds, the lines between the nose and mouth. Since it is made from a natural substance, no skin testing is required prior to treatment. Some patients may experience temporary redness, swelling and bruising after injection, but these symptoms are considered normal and usually go away within a few days.
